ACSR secures CLLD Funding Investment for A&A CAP Project
Auchterarder Community Sports and Recreation (ACSR) is delighted to announce we have received confirmation of support from Rural Perth & Kinross Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) Programme 2023-2024.
We have received a confirmed grant of £11,740 for the Community Connector project, it was announced today. This award has been match-funded thanks to generous support from an Auchterarder-based charity: Friends of St Margaret’s and through ACSR’s unrestricted reserves.
The project aims to continue the very success ‘Community Connector’ post, to help with the implementation of the community produced ‘Auchterarder and Aberuthven Community Action Plan, 2022-2027 (A&A CAP).
The Community Connector role is a crucial part of the plan to bring the local together, working in partnership, to deliver the ‘Action Points’ within each ‘Priority’ of the six ‘Themes’ of A&A CAP.
Ian Somerville, Chair of Auchterarder Community Sports and Recreation said: “We are reliant on, and grateful for, the funding to support this key role, which will continue provide a huge benefit to our community.”
Fiona Mackintosh, Chair of A&A CAP Management Group said: “We are delighted to have secured the CLLD support to enable us to continue to fund our incredibly important ‘Community Connector’ post, which is vital in delivering the community produced ‘Auchterarder and Aberuthven Community Action Plan, 2022-2027’ (A&A CAP). This role is key in working to support the partnership between ACSR and A&A CAP and the community in Auchterarder and Aberuthven. In the first year of our Community Action Plan, 27 Action Points are recorded as ‘complete / ongoing’ with a further 30 action points ‘progressed with expected completion by 2027’. This is only possible thanks to the effervescence of our Community Connector Angela Laurie, the support of ACSR, the funding support from CCLD and Friends of St Margaret’s and the valuable contribution of many local volunteers”.
Explaining the importance of the Rural Perth & Kinross CLLD support, David Smythe of Rural Perth & Kinross CLLD Chair “The award of £11,740 towards this community project is one of several benefitting from a portion of £11.6 million of CLLD and Scottish Government funds available for the development of rural communities and rural enterprise until March 2024 in Scotland. Rural Perth & Kinross have been allocated £917,550.35 to boost community involvement and empowerment. It is a fantastic opportunity for us all and we are pleased we have been able to support it.”
