ACSR secures CLLD Funding Investment
Auchterarder Community Sports and Recreation (ACSR) is delighted to announce we have received confirmation of support from Rural Perth & Kinross Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) Programme 2023-2024.
A confirmed grant of £64,339.22 will support the Pump Track development project at Auchterarder Public Park. The addition of this award alongside generous support from local and national funders will allow ACSR to now progress fully with plans for the new outdoor cycling facility. Funders contributing include Auchterarder & District Community Trust, the Auchterarder Community Facilities Fund, an Auchterarder-based charity: Friends of St Margaret’s, sportscotland (through their Cycling Facilities Fund), The Gannochy Trust and donations from local businesses and members of the local community.
The Pump Track will enhance the reputation of Auchterarder Public Park as a real focal point for the local community. The Pump Track will be designed and constructed to world class standards – and will enable people of all ages, and all abilities, to enjoy taking part in wheeled sport and recreation activities.
Ian Somerville, Chair of Auchterarder Community Sports and Recreation said: “We are extremely grateful for the funding we have received. This will help us deliver some fantastic cycling facilities in the park which will be tailored for riders of all ages and abilities. This will continue to enhance the park into a centre where members of the community can participate in recreational activities and develop their skills to a level they desire.”
Explaining the importance of the Rural Perth & Kinross CLLD support, David Smythe of Rural Perth & Kinross CLLD Chair “The award of £64,339.22 towards this community project is one of several benefitting from a portion of £11.6 million of CLLD and Scottish Government funds available for the development of rural communities and rural enterprise until March 2024 in Scotland. Rural Perth & Kinross have been allocated £917,550.35 to boost community involvement and empowerment. It is a fantastic opportunity for us all and we are pleased we have been able to support it.”
